My friend got the same message and can't play either. She researched it and apparently it has to do with a Google play update dated February 24. She found a Google blog and it is affecting many other games such as Clash of the Clans. She contacted Google and was told it was a Zynga problem. She contacted Zynga and hasn't heard back. Just recently when attempting to log in to my Grindr app it says it can't connect to Google play services to check the settings and retry.
