Transmission, Deluge, and QBittorrent all have actively remained ports/pkg for FreeBSD, maybe even more torrent clients. If software is supported under FreeBSD, run it in an iocage jail for next to no overhead. If software is not supported under FreeBSD, then yea a VM makes sense otherwise you're just wasting resources.
